The Eastern Communication Association Executive Council is seeking nominations for the Director of Social and Digital Media. This is a three-year position and will start at mid-conference 2026. The Director serves as the strategic lead for the Association’s online presence, responsible for planning, creating, and managing content that promotes the association’s mission, events, publications, and member engagement. This role oversees the development and execution of a cohesive social media strategy across multiple platforms, including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, X (formerly Twitter), LinkedIn, and YouTube, ensuring consistent branding and messaging. The Director will manage digital campaigns to promote the annual convention, calls for papers, scholarly initiatives, and professional development opportunities, while monitoring analytics to optimize reach and engagement.
In addition to social media responsibilities, the Director will collaborate with ECA leadership to maintain and update content and explore emerging platforms and technologies to enhance the association’s digital footprint. This Director also serves as an ex-officio member of the Executive Council and will prepare a report biannually for all Executive Council meetings. As the primary steward of ECA’s digital platforms, the Director will work to foster meaningful connections among members, increase visibility within the broader communication discipline, and support the association’s commitment to scholarly excellence and professional growth.
