109th EASTERN COMMUNICATION ASSOCIATION

The Interpersonal Communication Interest Group is seeking paper and panel submissions for ECA's 109th Annual Convention to be held at the Omni William Penn Hotel from April 25-29, 2018. The theme “Building Bridges” invites the exploration of cross-disciplinary research and encourages finding possibilities for connecting our research to theory and practice, creating new approaches to teaching, and collaborating with communities for service and civic engagement opportunities. Submissions must be received by the end of the day on October 15, 2017.
Individual Paper Submissions:
Individual papers are completed papers that report original research, provide an extensive literature review, or showcase some other form of scholarship. Papers that are to be considered will be no more than 25 double-spaced pages, using Times New Roman and 1-inch margins (excluding title page, abstract, references, and appendices), and comply with the guidelines set forth in APA 6th edition.
Submissions must be made electronically (Word or PDF) to Meredith Harrigan at harrigan@geneseo.edu and include two files. Please write “ECA Paper Submission” as the subject line and include in the text of the email any special requests. Please note that presenters are encouraged to present without technology.

Panel Submissions:
We welcome submissions for a variety of programs including thematic panels and round tables. Submission must be made electronically (Word or PDF) to Meredith Harrigan at harrigan@geneseo.edu and include two files. Please write “ECA Panel Submission” as the subject line and include in the text of the email any special requests. Please note that panelists are encouraged to present without technology.

For additional information about the convention, including short courses and other programming, please see the ECA website available at www.ecasite.org. A paper or panel should only be submitted to a single interest group.

In submitting the attached paper or proposal, I/We recognize that this submission is considered a professional responsibility. If this submission is accepted and programmed, I/We agree to register for the 2018 ECA Convention, pay fees, and present in Pittsburgh. I/We understand that presenters with last minute emergencies must make arrangements as possible for an alternate presenter as well as communicate their absences to both the Interest Group Planner and ECA VP; no shows will be removed from the official program.
