“Communities of Dissent: A ‘Lively Experiment’ in Dialogue, Diversity, and Discourse”

Providence, Rhode Island

The Omni Providence Hotel
April 23-27, 2014

Submission Deadline: October 15, 2013

The American Society for the History of Rhetoric (ASHR) invites submissions of competitive papers, panel proposals, and pitches for lively experiments in other presentation formats (such as roundtables, symposia, or debates) for the 105th annual convention of the ECA.

The mission of the American Society for the History of Rhetoric is to promote scholarship and research concerning the history of rhetorical theory, rhetorical discourse (widely conceived), rhetorical criticism, and rhetorical instruction in writing and speaking. We invite submissions addressing any of those topics in any time period or in any place. In keeping with the alliterative convention theme, we are particularly interested in submissions that engage the rhetorical dynamics of division, discord, and difference.
