Argumentation & Forensics Panels at ECA, Business Meeting Info & More!

Dear Argumentation & Forensics Interest Group Member,

We’re just a few days away from Boston and the 108th annual convention of the Eastern Communication Association! On behalf of the Argumentation & Forensics Interest Group, I’m looking forward to seeing you soon.

As you make your final preparations for this year’s convention, it is worth noting the two great panels our Interest Group has to offer:

  • Join us Friday morning from 8-9:15 for “When in Boston, Study the Kennedys: A Rhetorical Consideration of JFK, RFK and EMK,” which will take place in the Lowell Room at the Omni Parker House.
  • On Saturday morning from 9:30-10:45, join us for a public debate titled, “The First Hundred Daze: Debating Education Policy through Audience Engagement,” which will take place in the Longfellow Room at the Omni Parker House.

In addition to these panels, the Argumentation & Forensics Business Meeting will take place on Saturday morning from 8-9:15 in the Longfellow Room at the Omni Parker House. There, we’ll elect new leaders, brainstorm ideas for the 2018 convention in Pittsburgh and more. There are several opportunities to get more active, especially for graduate students and junior scholars, so please encourage your colleagues to join us!

If there’s anything we can do to make your ECA experience more enjoyable or accessible, don’t hesitate to send me an email.

I look forward to seeing you in Boston!

Sean
