Instructor in Communication

The Department of Communication and Media Arts at Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU) seeks candidates for the position of Instructor in Communication beginning September 1, 2015. The successful candidate will be student-focused and exceptionally effective in teaching traditional undergraduate students. A Master’s degree in Communication or related field is required at the time of application.

Candidates must have comprehensive expertise in the core subjects of communication discipline. We welcome candidates with a strong professional background in communication including a record of experience in applied fields and entrepreneurial work that will nurture students’ academic and professional development. The Communication major is one of the largest in the School of Arts and Sciences at SNHU. The major is known for meeting student needs in capacity-building to present themselves effectively for careers after graduation.

This is a full time face-to-face faculty position at the traditional day school on the Manchester, New Hampshire campus. This position encompasses an excellent benefits package that includes outstanding health insurance coverage and tuition benefits for IRS eligible dependents, as well as, a generous contribution to an employer funded retirement plan. Salary and rank are competitive and commensurate with academic preparation and experience.

Job Requirements

Master’s degree in Communication or related field is required at the time of application.

Candidates must have comprehensive expertise in the core subjects of communication discipline.

Preference is given to experience teaching in the following areas: social media, video production, as well as, domestic and international mass communication. Special consideration will be given to demonstrated strengths in engaging students beyond the classroom, mentoring, and providing guidance on internships.
