This short course will teach participants how to incorporate a “digital humanities” technique – story mapping – into their own classroom. Participants will learn the pedagogical value of incorporating digital projects in the college classroom; explore various ways that a mapping technology can be used in a communication classroom; create a digital story map of their own during an interactive tutorial (so bring a laptop!); and leave with a specific idea for incorporating a story map assignment into their own classroom. This is a 90-minute short course. Collection of papers on the intersectionality of identities and how they are perceived within dominant groups.
